Celebrate Earth Day with Your Family
You can celebrate Earth Day with your family in these ways.
Plant a Tree or Flowers
You can create a garden if you don’t already have one at home. A sandbox was transformed into a garden by B.
You can also check your locality to see if they have a community gardening program. You can rent a plot in our community garden for the entire year. Learn how to garden from local gardeners, and become part of a group of gardeners. Everyone in our community garden donates a portion of their harvest to the local food bank. This is a win-win situation.
Find a community Earth Day event.
Google Earth Day celebrations and find your locality. A few events are happening in our community. One at the community garden. The family-friendly event will feature crafts, music, face painting, games, and a ladybug release. Students from local schools will also be taking part in environmental awareness contests.
Take your trash to a local park.
Get gloves and a bag to pick up trash left behind by others. Beach clean-ups are very popular in South Florida. It’s possible to do this with your family, or you could look for an organization that brings together many people.
Switch to reusable grocery bags
This is my personal goal for Earth Day. I have many reusable bags that I collect from around the city, but I forget to take them with me when I go out. This is how I plan to make it happen, and you can too. You are halfway there if you store the bags in your vehicle. You don’t need to worry about losing the bags when you reach the store, as they are already in the car.
Tune up your car
This is a great opportunity to check your car. You can check to see if your oil needs to be changed. Mobil 1(TM), synthetic oil, protects more than your engine. Mobil 1(TM) synthetic oil reduces oil consumption, which leads to less oil waste. It is possible to be more eco-conscious by reducing waste. Walmart and Walmart’s Auto Care Center can help you change your oil or trust someone else to do it.
