Our First Family Cruise with Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line
We love to travel, and B loves new adventures. It is so convenient that we live in South Florida, which makes it easy to travel on cruises as we are only a short drive from the docks. We have yet to take a family cruise. We were thrilled to book the Bahamas Paradise Cruise when we heard from the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line.
Family cruises: Best for first time
The best family cruise is the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. Learn more about our experience and how you can book a Bahamas Paradise Cruise.
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Ship
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Lines offers the opportunity to travel to the Bahamas on one of two of their beautiful ships, the Grand Celebration or the Grand Classica. One of their two ships departs from the Port at Palm Beach every day. The Grand Classica was our cruise ship. There were 8 restaurants on the ship, 5 bars & lounges, and 658 staterooms.
The room had an ocean view, a King-sized bed, and a pulldown bed for our baby. The amount of storage in our room was a pleasant surprise. The decor in the common areas and the restaurant were beautiful.
Once in a Lifetime Event
We were invited to the bridge on the first night of the cruise to meet the Captain. The Captain gave us a tour of his bridge, and we met his staff. We were then shown all the flags they use to communicate with each other in an emergency. We could also see the areas where the captain docks and leaves port. We were about to leave port, so we said goodbye. The Captain asked if we would like to stay and watch how the dock leaves. Um…yes, please!
We went to the area outside where the first mate invited B to blow the horn and announce that we were leaving. B’s expression on his face will always be etched in my heart. It was an amazing experience. While we were leaving the port, we had the most amazing seats in the house as our journey to the open sea began.
Did you know the pilot boarded the ship at the port to guide it out of the inlet? We could sit in the front row, watch the pilot work, and then jump from our boat to the other.
Things to do onboard Paradise Bahamas Cruise Line
We met a mother and daughter team that had been on the ship twice before at the check-in line. They gave us great advice. After you have been onboard, head back to the back of your boat for The Grill Bar.
Kid’s Club
Although we initially decided not to use Kid’s Club, B was intrigued by the concept. B asked to go, and she wanted to stay longer each time we picked her up. B made friends at Kid’s Club and counted the minutes to get back on the boat so she could return to Kid’s Club.
You can either make reservations at the included restaurants or for those that are extra expensive. You can also choose from a buffet for your meals. The Rock Grill was our favorite place for breakfast and dinner. There were many options for cafeteria-style food.
Vegas Style Entertainment
The entertainment provided onboard was amazing. Every night, they put on a show at 9:15 pm. Although I was worried that it would be too late for B, the entertainers were so good that we stayed up until midnight both nights.
